SENIOR SOFTWARE ARCHITECT, VIZZVOX, INC TIBURON, CA 2006-PRESENT
Architected major portions of the VizzVox system including multimedia recording, playback, and storage ( http://www.vizzvox.com ). VizzVox was developed using Ruby on Rails. Developed video export service to convert flash based stories to common video formats for export to client systems. Investigated payment systems and developed the VizzVox payment processing system around Paypal. Developed robust, scalable media serving system as well as cross server story copying system. Developed and designed Android and iPhone clients. Clients use mobile technology to locate nearby multimedia stories and allow playback upon selection. With many years of Objective C development experience iPhone development is particularly familiar.
Developed the core infrastructure that configures, initializes, and provides a consistent api to test scripts for ICIʼs JTRS INC (tactical internet router). The test infrastructure surrounds the router with Linux systems using XML to distribute test processing. Utilized Python to provide a dynamic test environment that allowed for test systems to change without having to install and reconfigure each test machine.
Founded and selected developers and managers to create Walnut Software LLC. Team Lead and Manager for the development of SputIt.com. SpudIt.com is an Oil and Gas Engineering website. SpudIt.com gave Drilling Engineers the tools to match a rig with a wells drilling specification. ArcIMS and SDE were used to track drilling rigs in near real time for mapping the worlds Oil rigs. WebObjects, Objective C, Java and Python were the main tools used to develop SpudIt.com.
Developed Internet Customer Care and Bill Presentment systems for telecommunications companies. Played key role in development of back end servers to provide High Volume Printing service to customers. Developed key cross platform servers written in Objective C and Java to support main application. Provided consulting and software development services for DynCorp as part of a support services contract to the Information Technology Office (ITO) of the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA). Managed small team of developers developing NeXT and Java based applications for client. Responsible for reporting progress and status to management.
Served as SHL consultant team lead to develop a multi-tier customer service application to MCI's Customer Service division. Duties included personnel management, a lead development role, and interacting with key MCI management. Developed core software components of NeXT platform to interface with MCIʼs main frame legacy systems.
